Leona O'Neill

Leona O'Neill is an accomplished journalist and educator with extensive experience in the media industry. Currently serving as the Deputy Chief Sub Editor at The Irish News and holding the position of Head of Undergraduate Journalism and University Lecturer at Ulster University, O'Neill also acts as an External Examiner at Liverpool John Moores University. As the founder of the newsroom mental well-being movement #Mediastrong, O'Neill emphasizes the importance of mental health within the media sector. With a background that includes roles as a field producer for Al Jazeera Media Network and contributions as a freelance journalist, O'Neill has built a diverse portfolio, including columnist work for several publications.
