Karen Downer

Karen Downer is an experienced mental health professional currently serving as a High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapist at Livewell Southwest since December 2019. Prior to this role, Downer worked as a Mental Health Nurse with Military Medical Personnel and managed the Detox Unit at Burton Addiction Centre. A veteran of the Royal Navy, Downer held various senior roles, including WO1 Clinical Operations and WO1 for RN Mental Health, where responsibilities included overseeing a branch of mental health nurses. Downer's educational background features a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Therapies from the University of Exeter, a BSc in Addiction Studies from the University of Leeds, and a Diploma in Health Education from the University of Portsmouth.
