Jonathan Shears

Jonathan Shears serves as the Land Partnerships Lead at Living Carbon, focusing on forming partnerships with landowners to implement carbon projects for reforestation since January 2024. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Sourcing Specialist for Nature-Based Solutions at South Pole, where Jonathan originated and evaluated nature-based carbon projects in North America. Jonathan also contributed significantly to the American Forest Foundation, first as Partnerships Manager for the Family Forest Carbon Program, then as Scaling Manager, and previously as Conservation Coordinator, providing support for biodiversity and sustainable forestry initiatives. Early career roles involved environmental education at Living Classrooms Foundation, consulting for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, and government relations internships with American Rivers and The Wilderness Society. Jonathan holds a degree from Elon University and graduated from Yorktown High School.
