Sarah Carter

Assistant Director, Board and Member Engagement at Living Cities

Sarah Carter has a diverse work experience spanning multiple organizations and roles. Sarah most recently served as the Assistant Director of Board and Member Engagement at Living Cities starting in December 2022. Prior to that, Sarah held leadership positions at New City Kids, serving as both the Regional Executive Director from January 2021 to June 2022 and the Executive Director from January 2019 to December 2020. Before their time at New City Kids, they worked at UrbanLife San Diego from 2012 to 2018, initially as the Southeast Director and later as the Executive Director. Prior to that, Sarah had a significant tenure at InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA, where they held various roles including Associate Divisional Director and Area Director. Sarah also had involvement with the Global Urban Trek: Cairo program, where they served as the Director, coordinating volunteer opportunities and leading cross-cultural training and advocacy work.

Sarah Carter obtained a Master's in Business Administration from Bakke Graduate University between 2009 and 2012. Prior to that, from 1998 to 2002, they completed their Bachelor's of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in African Studies at UC San Diego. In 2001, they also engaged in non-degree studies in Political Science at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
