Linnea van Wagenen

Linnea Van Wagenen has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Linnea currently holds the position of Head of Strategic & Sustainable Development at Ljusdals kommun since January 2020. Prior to this, Linnea worked at the United Nations from 2014 to 2020, where they held various roles such as Special Assistant to the SG Envoy on South South Cooperation and Director of UNOSSC, Special Assistant to the Resident Coordinator, and Coordination/Communication Project Manager. Linnea'sresponsibilities included developing and implementing strategies and policies, coordinating communication projects, and organizing promotional events. Linnea also served as the Chair of the United World Colleges Swedish National Committee from 2012 to 2018, where they promoted UWC in high schools and managed internal communications. Additionally, they worked as a Freelance Journalist/Web Consultant at Ersa Production from 2011 to 2015. Linnea has also worked at UNDP as a Consultant in Communications and Operations, at Swedish Radio Media Development Office as a Consultant, at Peninsula College as an English as a Second Language Teacher, at Freinetskolan Tallbacken as a Journalism Teacher, at Sveriges Radio as a Host/Reporter, and at Platypus Marine, Inc. as a Sales/Marketing Assistant.

Linnea Van Wagenen's education history begins with their time at Slottegymnasiet, where they completed an unspecified program from 2000 to 2001. Following this, they attended Red Cross Nordic United World College from 2001 to 2003, earning an International Baccalaureate (IB) in Social Sciences. In 2003, they enrolled at Macalester College, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology and Political Science, which they successfully completed in 2007. Lastly, Linnea went to Malmö University between 2012 and 2014, obtaining a Master's degree in Communication for Development.
