Ruth Sutherland Cbe

Ruth Sutherland CBE serves as Vice Chair and Trustee at Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales since February 2020, and as Chair of Social adVentures Salford since April 2021. Prior experience includes roles as Non Executive Director at The Wildlife Trusts from November 2015 to November 2021, and Chief Executive Officer at Samaritans from August 2015 to November 2020. Additional leadership positions include Chief Executive at Relate (June 2012 - July 2015), Executive Director of Services at Scope (January 2011 - June 2012), Acting Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer at Alzheimer's Society (March 2008 - November 2010), Director of Services and Northern Ireland Director at Rethink Mental Illness (2005 - 2008), and Founding Director and Company Secretary at Community Development and Health Network (1996 - 2005). Ruth holds a BA in Sociology and Social Administration from the University of Warwick and an MSc in Health Promotion from Ulster University.
