Alex Stitt has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Alex started their career as an enterprises director at News International from 1998 to 2001. Alex went on to work as an enterprises director at Telegraph Newspapers from 2000 to 2006. In 2005, they served as a consultant at Arvon Ltd. From 2006 to 2013, they founded and served as the CEO of iAnnounce.co.uk, a successful business that was eventually sold to Legacy.com. Alex then worked as a syndication consultant at NHS Choices, the national NHS website, from 2007 to 2008. In 2010, Alex became a non-executive director at Constable & Robinson until 2014. From 2014 to 2018, they held various roles at the Victoria and Albert Museum, including Director of Commercial and Digital Development and later Director of Commercial, Digital, and Exhibitions. Currently, they are the Director of Heritage and Education Centre at Lloyd's Register Foundation starting from 2021. Throughout their career, Alex has demonstrated leadership skills and a passion for delivering outstanding results in various sectors, including retail, digital, international, brand licensing, publishing, and digital innovation.
Alex Stitt earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from INSEAD in 1996. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English from the University of Oxford from 1982 to 1985.

We became fully operational in 2013 but we draw on a long and distinguished history dating back to 1760 through our trading arm, Lloyd’s Register Group Limited (LR), with its tradition of public benefit. Our vision is to be known worldwide as a leading supporter of engineering-related research, training and education, that makes a real difference in improving the safety of the critical infrastructure on which modern society relies. In support of this, we promote scientific excellence and act as a catalyst working with others to achieve maximum impact. Our strategic themes are concerned with supporting excellent scientific research, promoting engineering-related education, encouraging public communication around risk, and facilitating the uptake and application of technology for the wider benefit of society.
