Roland Chang has a diverse and extensive work experience in the software engineering field. Roland started their career as a RF Compliance Engineer at Scientific Atlanta, where they focused on identifying and correcting electrical hazards in CATV headend equipment. Roland then moved on to Computing Devices, where they worked as a Hardware and Software Test Engineer, developing and executing automated tests for military communications equipment.

Roland's career continued at PMC-Sierra, where they worked as an Applications Projects Engineer, creating libraries of Input/Output Buffer Information Specification (IBIS) models for integrated circuits. Roland then joined M/A-COM Wireless Systems as a Software Engineer (Co-op), implementing daemon processes for a network management solution.

After M/A-COM was acquired by Tyco, Roland stayed with the company and took on the role of Software Engineer, simulating UDP protocol behaviors for radios in a voice trunking system. Roland was later promoted to Staff Software Engineer, where they continued their work on the voice trunking system.

In 2012, Roland joined Harris Corporation as a Principal Software Engineer, leading the engineering project for a configuration management product. Roland worked on the deployment, maintenance, and upgrades of over 20 different LMR products.

Following their time at Harris, Roland worked as a Senior Software Engineer at OSI Maritime Systems, where they played a key role in the design, development, and integration of radar software subsystems.

Most recently, Roland joined LMI Technologies as a Senior Software Engineer and later became a Software Team Lead. Roland led a sub-team of developers in developing an inline measurement and inspection solution capable of running on multiple platforms.

Throughout their career, Roland has demonstrated their expertise in software development, engineering leadership, and working with diverse technologies and platforms.

Roland Chang completed their high school education at Burnaby North Secondary from 1989 to 1994. Roland then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering at Simon Fraser University from 1994 to 1999. Later, from 2001 to 2006, Roland obtained a Master of Engineering degree with a concentration in Communications from Simon Fraser University.
