Lamar Heyward

Lamar Heyward is Chief Marketing Officer at Local Government Federal Credit Union and Civic Federal Credit Union.

Heyward has been a marketing professional for nearly three decades, beginning as a manager for a North Carolina electrical cooperative in 1999. Shortly after, he transitioned to the credit union industry, joining the LGFCU marketing department in 2005 as a graphic designer. In 2011 he transitioned to a role as an innovation strategist. Heyward was named Vice President of Marketing in 2015, and in 2017 was appointed Senior Vice President of Marketing at Civic Federal Credit Union.

He is a graduate of Filene i3 – a two-year innovation leadership program run by the Filene Research Institute. A veteran of the United States Air Force, Heyward earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with an emphasis on digital media from North Carolina State University.
