Leilah Powell

Leilah Powell serves as the Executive Director of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation in San Antonio since August 2017, leveraging extensive experience in policy and community development. Previously, Powell held the position of Chief of Policy in the Office of Mayor Ivy R. Taylor for the City of San Antonio and worked as a representative for the Transatlantic Cities Network from 2008 to 2016. Additional roles include Executive Director at Brackenridge Park Conservancy and Principal at Urban Development Services, as well as a Government Relations Manager for Bexar County. Powell began a career in public service as Assistant to the Mayor for the City of San Antonio and also contributed as an Adjunct Faculty member at Trinity University. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Community and Regional Planning from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor's degree in Classics from Stanford University.
