François Maillet

François Maillet has extensive experience in the field of data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

François is currently the Head of Data and Machine Learning at Local Logic, a position they have held since June 2022. Prior to this role, they served as the Head of Engineering at the same company from May 2021 to June 2022.

From September 2020 to March 2021, François worked as the Chief Technology Officer at Viridis Terra International. In this role, they established the technology strategy for the company and led the development of a digital platform built on an AWS serverless backend and React front-end. The platform was designed to handle sensitive data securely.

Before joining Viridis Terra International, François was the Lead AI Solution Architect at AlayaCare from March 2020 to September 2020.

From 2017 to 2019, François was employed at Element AI, where they held multiple roles. François started as an AI Project Lead from February 2017 to January 2018, and then became the Technical AI Product Manager from January 2018 to June 2019. In this latter role, they created a vision and led a cross-functional product team that developed an internal product for organizations to ask business questions in natural language. This technology and product design were later released externally as "Knowledge Scout".

Prior to their time at Element AI, François co-founded MLDB.ai in 2016 and served as the Head of AI. MLDB was a machine learning database that was spun out of Datacratic and later acquired by Element AI.

François began their career at Datacratic in 2011 as a Machine Learning Specialist, and later became the Head of Machine Learning from August 2012 to September 2016.

François started their professional journey as a Machine Learning Developer at Eloda in April 2010.

François gained early industry experience as a Machine Learning Intern at Sun Microsystems from May 2008 to October 2009.

François Maillet completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Science from Université de Montréal from 2003 to 2006. Continuing their education, they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Computer Science with a specialization in Machine Learning from Université de Montréal from 2007 to 2009.
