Sophie Swanson's work experience includes roles at various organizations. Most recently, they worked as a Content Developer at Local Projects starting in 2022. Prior to that, they held multiple positions at Bluecadet from 2021 to 2022, including Jr. Narrative Strategist and Content Coordinator. In 2020, Sophie worked as a Researcher & Writer at Unified Field, where they researched subject material, wrote label copy, and developed content for interactive exhibits. Sophie also gained experience as a Content Coordinator for the United Nations Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. Sophie has served as an Educator at Hill Art Foundation and as a Lead Student Educator & Teen Program Coordinator at Bard Graduate Center. Sophie has also interned at Museo Franz Mayer, El Museo del Objecto del Objecto, Knology, and the New-York Historical Society.

Sophie Swanson completed their high school education at Phoenix Country Day School from 2007 to 2011. Afterward, they pursued their Bachelor of Arts degree in Cultural Anthropology at Yale University, graduating in 2015. Sophie then furthered their education at Bard Graduate Center: Decorative Arts, Design History, Material Culture, where they obtained a Master's degree in Material Culture from 2017 to 2019.
