Chris Spray

Chris Spray is an accomplished academic and environmental professional with extensive experience in water science and policy. Currently serving as a Board Member at Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park Authority and holding the position of Professor Emeritus and Honorary Professor of Water Science & Policy at the University of Dundee, Chris Spray focuses on river restoration and catchment management. Contributions include a part-time role as Senior Research Fellow on the Eddleston Water restoration and Natural Flood Management project, alongside previous professorship at UNESCO Centre. Previous positions include Senior Research Fellow with NERC/Welsh Government, Director of Environmental Science at the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, and Director of Environment at Northumbrian Water. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Zoology from the University of Aberdeen and an MA in General Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
