Nicholas Shorter, PhD, is a Principal Investigator and Research Scientist with over 16 years of experience in Quantum Computing, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Remote Sensing technologies. Currently, Shorter leads enterprise-level Quantum R&D efforts at Lockheed Martin, developing initiatives in quantum communication and quantum-enhanced remote sensing. As the technical lead for Quantum Machine Learning, Shorter created the corporation-wide QML roadmap and manages strategic R&D partnerships. With a strong background in deep learning and LiDAR processing, Shorter has authored multiple publications and is the primary inventor on two pending patents in the field. Shorter holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Central Florida.
