Thomas J. Falk is the Director at Lockheed Martin. Thomas has over 20 years of experience in the engineering field, specializing in underwater acoustic analysis and sonar performance modeling.

Thomas started their career as a Systems Engineer with General Dynamics Canada in February 1999. Thomas worked on various projects involving the development and integration of complex systems. In January 2012, they left General Dynamics to join Maritime Way Scientific Ltd as an Underwater Acoustic Analyst.

At Maritime Way, Thomas developed a hardware in the loop underwater, under-ice, communications simulator, linking Matlab, Fortran executables, to a Teledyne-Benthos underwater modem in order to examine the effects of the ocean environment on underwater communications performance for the Canadian defence research establishment. Thomas also performed time series and spectral analysis of signals relating to underwater noise, and active sonars. In addition, they conducted a very high spatial resolution calibration on a diver handheld sonar at the DRDC-Atlantic underwater test facility (Bedford Basin) assisting in a study to examine navy diver safety recommendations.

In November 2018, Thomas left Maritime Way to join Lockheed Martin as the Director. In their current role, they are responsible for leading a team of engineers in the development of advanced technology solutions for various clients.

Thomas J. Falk has a M.Sc. in Ocean Physics from Memorial University of Newfoundland and a B.Sc. Hon in Physics from Dalhousie University. Thomas also has a certification from Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada in Certificate of Proficiency in Amateur Radio, Basic with Honours.
