Kristin Veltema, MBA, SPHR

Kristin Veltema has over 18 years of work experience in the field of Human Resources and management. Kristin is currently serving as the Corporate Director of Human Resources at Lodgco Hospitality since May 2023. Prior to that, they worked at United Bank of Michigan for 10 years, holding various roles including the Second Vice President, Human Resource Officer, where they were responsible for benefits administration, employment law compliance, recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training. Kristin also served as a Human Resource Officer and a Human Resource & Training Specialist at the same company. Before joining United Bank of Michigan, Kristin worked as an Office Manager at Aspen Insurance Group from August 2007 to October 2013. Kristin began their career at Nationwide Insurance, where they worked as an Agency Representative from August 2005 to August 2007. Overall, Kristin Veltema has a strong background in HR and has held leadership roles in both the banking and insurance industries.

Kristin Veltema has a diverse educational background with a focus on Human Resource Management. Kristin completed the Program at the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from Davenport University from 2014 to 2017, specializing in Human Resource Management.

Kristin also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Human Resources Management from Grand Valley State University, which they earned between 2010 and 2013. Additionally, they completed their Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Business at Grand Rapids Community College from 2004 to 2009.

Kristin's educational journey began with their earning their High School Diploma from Unity Christian High School (MI) in 2004.

In terms of certifications, Kristin Veltema has obtained the Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®) Certification from HRCI in May 2021. Kristin had previously acquired the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from HRCI in 2016.
