Philippe De Backer began their work experience in 1993 as a PLC Engineer at Schneider Electric. Philippe then moved to Lödige Industries in 1994 where they worked in various roles including PLC Engineer, Project Manager, and Managing Director United Kingdom. In 2002, they became the CEO of Lödige Industries.

Philippe De Backer obtained their Executive MBA from the London Business School in 2002. Philippe completed their Master's in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1992. Prior to that, they earned a Diplôme d'Ingenieur from CentraleSupélec between 1989 and 1992. In 1989, they completed their Ecole Préparatoire at Lycée Sainte-Geneviève.
