Alejandro Gómez Montoya

Alejandro Gómez Montoya has a diverse range of work experience. Alejandro first worked as a Research Internship at the Universidad Nacional de San Juan in 2014. Alejandro then became a Mathematical Modeler at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in 2017. In 2016, Alejandro co-founded Innocampo, an AgroTech startup, and served as the Chief Technology Officer until 2018. During this time, they focused on creating custom hardware and applying computer vision techniques to aerial images for various projects.

In 2018, Alejandro took on the role of Computer Vision Advisor at Fundación FES. Alejandro also joined the Digital Americas Pipeline Initiative (DAPI) as an Intelligent Automation Specialist, where they later became the Head of the Artificial Intelligence Business Unit. As the Head, Alejandro created a data-driven culture, developed the AI and Data Analytics team, managed projects, and implemented AI and data-related elements to enhance products.

Alejandro also has experience in academia, working as a part-time Teacher at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana and as a Master Thesis Student, Young Researcher, and Auxiliar de investigación at Universidad EAFIT. Alejandro'sresearch projects at Universidad EAFIT involved analyzing electroencephalography signals for mapping emotions in the cerebral cortex.

More recently, Alejandro held the role of Director of Artificial Intelligence at ChoiceWORX, where they were responsible for creating the roadmap for AI-based products, leading and mentoring team members, identifying opportunities for impact through data, and evangelizing AI and data topics within the organization.

In 2023, Alejandro will join Loka as a Data Lead. Alejandro'sprevious experiences in academia, startups, and corporate settings have equipped him with a wide range of skills in areas such as data analytics, artificial intelligence, computer vision, and project management.

Alejandro Gómez Montoya started their education at Universidad EAFIT, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics from 2011 to 2016. Alejandro then went on to obtain a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics, specializing in Applied Mathematics, from the same university from 2017 to 2023.

In addition to their formal education, Alejandro has also obtained several certifications. In September 2019, they became an Automation Anywhere Certified Advanced RPA Professional (V11.0) and an IQ Bot - Developer. Alejandro also obtained the Control Room Administrator certification from Automation Anywhere in August 2019. In August 2018, they completed RPA Awareness Training from UiPath, and in March 2019, they became an RPA Developer from the same institution.

Apart from their technical certifications, Alejandro has also obtained an EF SET English Certificate (C2 Proficient) from EF Standard English Test in January 2023. Furthermore, they have completed the AWS Data Lab Participant certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in July 2021, and they became an OKR Certified Professional from CertiProf in November 2021.
