Jo Smith

Jo Smith has extensive experience in fire and emergency management, currently serving as the Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Control and Mobilising at London Fire Brigade since January 2015, where responsibilities include overseeing operations and mobilising. Previously, Jo held the position of Senior Operations Manager at the Greater London Authority as part of the Mayor of London Our Time leadership Programme, and served as Programme Manager for the Fire Control Rooms Project Support Programme at the National Fire Chiefs Council from August 2012 to January 2015. Earlier roles include Senior Operations Manager at London Fire Brigade and Emergency Control Room Manager at Essex Fire & Rescue Service, with initial experience as a VAT recovery assistant at HM Customs & Excise. Jo Smith is a graduate of Belfairs High School.
