David McGovern

David McGovern is a Senior Lecturer in Water Engineering at London South Bank University since September 2017, with prior experience as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at UCL from June 2014 to September 2017. His lectures focus on mechanical engineering and fluid dynamics, and his research interests include tsunami engineering, scour, flood, storm, and coastal engineering. David has also worked as a Policy Advisor at The Royal Society in 2017, where skills in policy planning, data analysis, and communication with stakeholders were developed. Earlier, David was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore - Keppel Corporate Lab from February 2012 to May 2014, emphasizing project management and international collaboration. David holds a PhD in Geography with a focus on hydraulic engineering and renewable energy from Lancaster University, where a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science was also completed.
