Shona Brown

Governor at London South Bank University

Shona Brown is the current Governor at London South Bank University. Shona has been in this role since September 2017. Prior to that, they were a Visiting Professor Nursing and Strategic Development at London South Bank University from September 2005 to September 2017. In this role, they provided a strategic advisory link between nursing practice and educational development in local NHS services and helped develop the strategic direction for health professions education within the Health Faculty at South Bank University. Shona also occasionally guest lectured on Healthcare Masters Programmes (leadership).

Before their time at London South Bank University, Brown was the Executive Director of Organisation Change at Whipps Cross University Hospital NHS Trust from September 2005 to April 2012. In this newly created role, they were responsible for leading the organisation's engagement in developing an outline and full merger business case. Her portfolio also included lead strategy development and business improvement processes across the Trust, lead on Emergency Planning and Business Continuity, and Trust Board lead for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.

From November 2002 to September 2005, Brown was the Director of Education Commissioning and Workforce Development at North East London Strategic Health Authority. In this role, they were responsible for commissioning healthcare education and training for all health professionals in North East London.

Shona Brown completed a Bachelor of Science in Registered Nursing at Abertay University. Shona then completed an Art of Team Coaching Diploma at Team Coaching Studio. After that, they completed a Research Doctorate in Management of Organisational Change at University of Hertfordshire. Finally, they completed a Master of Science in Nursing Science at The University of Manchester.
