Danae Thomas

Danae Thomas is an experienced professional in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, currently serving as a committee member for the Fourth Year Trustees at the University of Virginia and as Vice Chair of Intersectionality and Outreach for NAMI. Danae engages in educational outreach concerning mental health disparities, particularly for underserved communities in Charlottesville. Additional roles include a Floor Educator at the Long Island Children's Museum, where responsibilities involve facilitating educational experiences for families, and an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Emotion and Behavior Lab, assisting in various research studies. Danae also contributes to community events through membership on the logistics team for the CRAVE fashion show at the University of Virginia and has previous administrative experience with Atlas Collective. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in African American and African Studies, Spanish, and Psychology at the University of Virginia, Danae demonstrates a commitment to social betterment and empowerment through education and community service.
