Long Island Maritime Museum
Brooke Franks is an experienced professional in the fields of museum curation and education, currently serving as the Collections Manager and Curator at the Long Island Maritime Museum since January 2024. Franks holds adjunct professor positions at both York College of the City University of New York and Suffolk County Community College, roles initiated in August 2023 and January 2019, respectively. Previous positions include working at the Long Island Maritime Museum in Collections Management and Museum Education, and as a Teaching Assistant at Stony Brook University. Franks has also contributed to academia as an adjunct professor at Sam Houston State University and San Jacinto College. Franks's educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in History from Stony Brook University, a Master of Arts in European History from Sam Houston State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Tarleton State University.
