Long Island Rough Riders
WHO WE ARE The exclusive PDL affiliate of the New York City Football Club. The Rough Riders soccer franchise is one of the oldest soccer clubs in North America. Founded in 1994, we have been Long Island’s hometown club since. The Rough Riders name was bestowed to the First United States Volunteer Cavalry, under the leadership of Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States. Just as Teddy Roosevelt brought together a diverse team of individuals to work for a common goal, we bring together Long Island’s best players to form an elite player community, driven by excellence and grounded with core principles. This is what it means to be a Rough Rider. Teddy Roosevelt’s core values of respect, courage, and perseverance are at the core of our program. We employ professional coaches from around the world to educate Long Island’s aspiring players — whether Men, Women, or Youth — who are destined for collegiate, professional or international careers. For 20 years, our proven method has developed Long Island’s most talented players, allowing individuals to achieve success as athletes and as people. PLAYER CREED “It’s not how you play as an individual, it’s how you play and bring greatness to others that truly defines the meaning of being a Rough Rider!” Phone: 516-622-3900 Email: info@liroughriders.com
