John Francis

John Francis has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. John began their career in 1990 as an Avionics Technician for the US Navy, working on HH-46D helicopters. John then transitioned to the role of AH-1W Avionics/Electrician, where they were involved in testing and evaluating various aircraft systems. Francis also served as an S-3B Avionics Technician, maintaining computer and mission systems on the S-3B Viking aircraft.

In 2000, Francis joined Long Wave Inc., where they held multiple roles. John started as an E-6B In-Flight Technician, operating and maintaining critical communication and command systems. John then became a Maintenance Controller, directing over 250 personnel in performing maintenance tasks. Francis also served as a Senior Enlisted Leader, providing human resources guidance to a large organization.

In 2013, Francis returned to the US Navy as part of the E-6B Fleet Introduction Team. John later became an Instructor, managing instructors and developing courseware for the nuclear command and control environment. Francis also held the position of Chief Petty Officer, leading and training sailors.

Throughout their career, Francis demonstrated expertise in systems engineering. John served as a Systems Engineering Specialist at Long Wave Inc., where they integrated software and hardware systems and provided training on NOVA/NIXT systems. John later became a Systems Engineering Manager, overseeing engineering projects and teams.

John Francis has a diverse education history. John earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Systems Engineering from Colorado State University from 2019 to 2021. Prior to this, they obtained a Graduate Certificate in Systems Engineering Practice from the same institution, attending from 2017 to 2018.

In 2010, they completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Administrative Leadership at the University of Oklahoma. Before that, they attended Coastline College, where they achieved an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Electronics Technology and another AA degree in Vocational Technical Education in 2009 and 2010.

John also has completed various additional certifications. In 2018, they obtained a TS Security Clearance/SCI Eligible certification from the Department of Defense. Furthermore, they have attended specialized courses such as the AV-1A School for Aviation Electronics in 1992 and the Crew Resource Management Instructor course in 2006.
