Gautam Rao

Gautam Rao is a computational engineering student at The University of Texas at Austin, with extensive experience in engineering and data science. Currently serving as a Data Science/Analyst Intern at Collins Aerospace, Gautam has successfully optimized data processes, resulting in significant productivity gains and cost reductions. As a Design Engineer at Texas Guadaloop, Gautam contributed to the development of an aerodynamic shell for a Hyperloop system, while also working as a Launch Vehicle Engineer for the Longhorn Rocketry Association, focusing on rocket design and fabrication. Prior experience includes machine learning research at the Horizon Academic Research Program, with a focus on biotechnology and COVID-19 drug efficacy, as well as participation in NASA's Aerospace Scholar program, where Gautam developed simulations related to the Artemis rocket. Gautam holds the Elements of Computing Certificate in Computer Science and graduated from Coppell High School in 2022.
