Alyssa Menzel

Project Developer at Longroad Energy

Alyssa Menzel's work experience includes a role as a Project Developer at Longroad Energy starting in May 2022. Prior to that, they worked as an Associate in Renewable Development at Invenergy LLC from July 2021 to April 2022. Alyssa also served as a Project Quality Manager - Hydro North America at GE Renewable Energy from October 2020 to July 2021. Before that, they were a Research Program Participant (Graduate Internship) at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory from March 2020 to October 2020. Earlier in their career, Alyssa held various roles at GE Renewable Energy, including Commodity Leader and Operations Management Leadership Program positions. Alyssa also worked as a Production Supervisor in the Operations Management Leadership Program at GE Power and as an EID Intern at GE Energy Connections. Additionally, they gained experience as an Intern at PPL Electric Utilities, where they worked on transmission and substation standards. Alyssa's earliest work experience includes the role of Eco-Rep at Penn State Residence Life, where they promoted sustainability and facilitated events, as well as a Waitress at Metro Bar and Grill, Inc.

Alyssa Menzel completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Energy Engineering at Penn State University from 2013 to 2017. Alyssa then pursued a Masters of the Environment at the University of Colorado Boulder specializing in Renewable and Sustainable Energy from 2019 to 2020. In terms of additional certifications, Alyssa obtained a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from GE in April 2018 and a Construction Quality Management for Contractors certification from the US Army Corps of Engineers in February 2021.
