Leigh Norton

Leigh Norton has extensive work experience in the energy industry. They started their career at MeadWestvaco (MWV) in 1999, where they initially worked as a Cogen Area Supervisor, supervising Cogen Boiler Operators and Steam Turbine Maintenance. In this role, they were responsible for coordinating Annual Boiler Outages and managing contractors and site staff. From 2003 to 2008, Leigh Norton served as the Utilities Area Manager at MWV, managing various areas of the Utilities Area and leading projects for boiler improvements.

In 2008, Leigh Norton joined Rumford Power Inc. as a Maintenance Manager. In this position, they were responsible for managing day-to-day maintenance activities, as well as seasonal outages, major outages, and plant modifications. They also served as the Project Manager for various turbine repairs and HRSG modifications. From 2015 to 2020, Leigh Norton took on the role of Operations Manager at Rumford Power Inc., where they managed overall Plant Operations and staff. They also served as the NERC O&P and NERC CIP Compliance Coordinator during this time.

Most recently, Leigh Norton joined Longroad Energy in 2020 as the Operations Manager for Weaver Wind LLC.

Leigh Norton received a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Marine Engineering from Maine Maritime Academy, where they studied from 1996 to 1999. They also earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of Maine at Machias, attending from 1992 to 1995. In addition to their formal education, Leigh Norton obtained certifications as a Stationary Steam Engineer 1st Class from the State of Maine in September 2007, and as a U.S. Merchant Marine Officer from Maine Maritime Academy in May 1999.
