Larissa M. Smith

Larissa M. Smith currently serves as the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Longwood University, a position held since January 2018, after contributing as Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and Associate Provost for Outreach Programs and Initiatives from 2014 to December 2017. As a Professor of History, Larissa has a robust academic background, including a Ph.D. in American History from Emory University (1993-2001) and a B.A. in Political and Social Thought from the University of Virginia (1989-1993). Additionally, Larissa has taught as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Richmond and held a lecturer position at Virginia State University, specializing in courses related to American History and Social Movements.
