Mark Kostro

Mark Kostro is an accomplished academic and professional in the field of anthropology and archaeology, currently serving as an Associate Professor at Longwood University since August 2019, following a tenure as Assistant Professor. Kostro has extensive experience in archaeological research, having worked as a Senior Staff Archaeologist and previously as a Project Archaeologist at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation from 2007 to 2019. Additionally, Kostro has contributed to the City of Williamsburg's Architectural Review Board as a Board Member from 2015 to 2024. Academic roles as Adjunct Faculty were held at the College of William and Mary and Christopher Newport University, where Kostro taught courses in historical archaeology and human variation. Kostro's educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Arts in Anthropology from William & Mary, and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and History from Rutgers University.
