Elke Ottenschlaeger

Elke Ottenschlaeger is a seasoned professional in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, currently serving as the Head of Global Technical Functions at Lonza since November 2017. In this capacity, Elke leads a global team of subject matter experts focused on technical transfer, process life cycle management, analytical testing, engineering and maintenance, as well as statistics and data science, all aimed at achieving operational excellence. Prior experience includes roles such as Director of Global Operations at AbbVie, where capacity and yield optimization was paramount, and site manager at Baxalta, where organizational transformation for agility and collaboration was emphasized. Elke's earlier career at Baxter International included building technical services teams and overseeing various tech transfers, along with significant contributions to yield improvements through Six Sigma projects. Elke holds two Master of Science degrees in Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen Technische Chemie and Handelswissenschaften from Johannes Kepler Universität Linz.
