Torsten Schmidt

Torsten Schmidt has extensive experience in the biotechnology sector, currently serving as Site Head Biologics - ad interim at Lonza since August 2008, where prior roles include Business Unit Head mRNA and Head of various operations and projects related to biologics and fermentation. Before Lonza, Torsten held significant positions such as Head of Manufacturing at Phyton Biotech and Head of Production Biotechnology at Girindus AG. Torsten is a former Managing Partner at PlasmidFactory GmbH & Co. KG and has experience as a Laboratory Manager at Qiagen. Academically, Torsten earned a promotion in Biotechnology and a Diplom in Chemistry from Bielefeld University, completing studies in 1998 and 1995, respectively.
