Vesela Encheva

Vesela Encheva is a highly experienced scientist specializing in mass spectrometry and proteomics, currently serving as Group Leader and Associate Principal Scientist in R&D at Lonza since August 2022. Previously, Encheva held roles such as Lead Scientist for Characterisation and Senior Scientist for Characterisation at Lonza Biologics from November 2020 to September 2022 and January to November 2020, respectively. Prior experience includes Senior Scientific Officer at The Francis Crick Institute, where expertise in quantitative and qualitative mass spectrometry and characterisation of post-translational modifications was developed between October 2012 and January 2020. Encheva's earlier positions encompass Senior Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics Scientist at the Clinical Sciences Centre MRC UK, Mass Spectrometry Research Scientist at LGC Limited, and Postdoctoral Scientist at the Health Protection Agency. Encheva earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Microbial Proteomics from the University of East London in 2005.
