Lookingglass Theatre Company
Emilio G. Robles serves as an Assistant Professor in Applied Theatre at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis, where responsibilities include teaching various theatre courses, managing curriculum, maintaining community partnerships, and mentoring students. With extensive experience in arts education, Robles is also a Resident Teaching Artist and Director at Lookingglass Theatre Company, leading workshops and artistic residencies. Robles has a background in acting, directing, and voiceover work through SAG-AFTRA, alongside a history of teaching in K-12 settings and collaborating with various educational and community organizations. Educational credentials include an MFA in Acting from the University of Pittsburgh and a BA in Theatre from Wabash College.

Founded in 1988 by graduates of Northwestern University, Lookingglass Theatre Company is a nationwide leader in the creation and presentation of new, cutting-edge theatrical works and in sharing its ensemble-based theatrical techniques with Chicago-area students and teachers through Education and Community Programs. In 2003, Lookingglass Theatre opened in Chicago’s landmark Water Tower Water Works on Michigan Avenue. In 2011, Lookingglass received the American Theatre Wing’s Tony Award® for Outstanding Regional Theatre. In 2016, Lookingglass received the MacArthur Award for Creative and Effective Institutions and in 2017, was the recipient of the League of Chicago Theatres’ Artistic Achievement Award.
