Daniel McNeil has extensive work experience in software engineering, particularly in kernel and system software development. Daniel started their career at Litton Data Systems in 1984 as a Senior Software Engineer, where they designed and implemented real-time military communication systems. Daniel then worked at Quotron Systems as a Software Manager / Senior Programmer Analyst, managing the development and support of the Unix kernel and device drivers. In 1990, they joined Sequent Computer Systems as a Staff Software Engineer, a role they held until 2000. During this time, they gained experience in software development. At Mirapoint, Inc., they served as a Staff Software Engineer, specializing in kernel development for large-scale email systems. Daniel also worked on file system performance enhancements, buffer cache, device-level snapshot driver, NFS, and other kernel areas. From 2002 to 2005, Daniel worked at OSDL as a Senior Kernel Engineer, focusing on improving the Linux kernel to support data center capabilities, with a particular emphasis on asynchronous and direct I/O, clustering, and cluster file systems. Daniel then joined Mirapoint Inc./Mirapoint Software Inc./Critical Path Inc. in 2005 as an Engineer, where they developed kernel and system software for their large-scale email software. In 2011, they joined LookingGlass Cyber Solutions, Inc. as a SW Engineer, holding that role until the present.
