Savio Lau

Savio Lau has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and industries. Savio currently works at Lookout as a Senior Staff Security Intelligence Researcher since September 2022, building on their previous role as a Staff Security Intelligence Researcher from August 2021 to September 2022. Prior to Lookout, Savio spent a significant portion of their career at Sophos, starting as a Spam Analyst in October 2007 and steadily progressing to roles such as Senior Threat Researcher 2, Senior Threat Researcher 1, and Threat Researcher III. Savio worked at Sophos from May 2008 to July 2021. Additionally, Savio had a temporary position as a Junior Firmware Developer (co-op) at Sierra Wireless from January 2001 to August 2001. Before entering the workforce full-time, they gained experience as a Teaching Assistant at Simon Fraser University from January 2003 to April 2006.

Savio Lau has a strong educational background in computer engineering. Savio obtained a Master of Applied Science (MASc) degree in Computer Engineering from Simon Fraser University from 2003 to 2007. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Computer Engineering at the same university from 1997 to 2003. In addition to their formal education, they also hold a certification in Security+ from CompTIA, which they obtained in December 2009.
