Nate Austin is a Sr. UX/Product Designer at LOQBOX since October 2022. Previously, they worked as a Sr. Product Designer at Sgiggles Inc from January 2021 to October 2022. Nate also had freelance experience as a Product Designer from September 2019 to January 2021. Prior to that, Nate worked at IBM as a Sr. User Experience Designer from April 2012 to September 2019. Nate played a key role in leading research, ideation, design, testing, and collaboration with multi-functional teams. Nate's work involved delivering solutions for various IBM products, including Brassring, Watson Career Coach, Watson Candidate Assistant, Survey Analytics, and Onboarding. Nate also designed self-service product administration experiences for non-technical users. Before IBM, Nate worked at Kenexa as a User Experience Designer from May 2005 to April 2012, where they conducted user research, prototyping, and usability testing to enhance the user experience of various Kenexa products. Their work ultimately led to the acquisition of Kenexa by IBM. Prior to their role as a UX Designer at Kenexa, Nate worked as a Graphics Designer, collaborating with clients and consultants to create custom branded candidate experiences. Nate also has previous experience at Nucraft Furniture as a Lead CNC Operator and at TADD Industries as a Lead CNC Programmer.
Nate Austin's education history includes attending Grand Valley State University from 1995 to 1997, where they studied Computer Science. Before that, from 1984 to 1988, they obtained their High School Diploma in General Studies from Creston High School. In addition to their education, Nate has also obtained several certifications, such as being an Enterprise Design Thinking Co-Creator from IBM, which they obtained in August 2018. Nate is also a Cognitive Practitioner and IBM Design Thinking Practitioner, both obtained in 2018 and 2017 respectively, also from IBM.
