Michelle Jecha

Post-Master’s Fellow at Lorenz Clinic

Michelle holds a Master of Arts in Psychological Sciences from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, in which she specialized in child and family clinical counseling.

Michelle strives to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for children and their families in order to give the child a voice with which to overcome their struggles with emotions, anxieties, and/or other difficult situations. Michelle helps children and their families work through a child’s struggles with anxiety, depression, anger, grief and loss, trauma, behavioral difficulties, major life adjustments, interpersonal and intrapersonal struggles, and family issues. Michelle’s ultimate goal is to help each child she works with develop into their full potential.

Michelle utilizes both person-centered and cognitive behavioral therapy approaches in a collaborative way and values tailoring an approach to each individual. Some children better express themselves through play, and because of this, Michelle utilizes play therapy techniques in order to communicate in a developmentally appropriate way. She strives to learn about the culture, relationships, and environments with which each child is accustomed to, and she works to help her clients be the best version of themselves that they can be.
