Richard Alfaro, PhD, is a Research Scientist II at Los Alamos National Laboratory since June 2019, previously serving as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. Richard holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Geophysics and Seismology from The University of Texas at El Paso, where Richard also completed a Master of Science in the same field and a Bachelor of Science in Geology/Earth Science. Richard's expertise includes designing and executing independent research projects, supervising students, and analyzing geophysical datasets. Richard has contributed to research proposals, presented at major conferences, and authored research articles and grant proposals. Additionally, Richard has played a significant role in educational outreach through leadership in the Geoscience Pathways Camp and involvement as a National Science Foundation GK-12 Fellow, enhancing science education for high school students.
