Mr. Geller has advised the LACERS Board of Administration and Executive Management on a wide array of matters since he joined the Public Pensions General Counsel division in 2015. His practice focuses on institutional investing and related transactional work as well as cybersecurity, real estate, contracts, benefits administration, and municipal law. He also handles discrete litigation matters. Before joining this division, Mr. Geller spent nine years as a prosecutor with the Van Nuys division of the Criminal Branch of the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office.
Mr. Geller serves on the Investment and Cybersecurity Committees of the National Association of Public Pension Attorneys (NAPPA), and he is a member of the Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA) Legal Advisory Committee. Mr. Geller is also a trustee and chairs the Governance Committee for the City of Los Angeles Board of Deferred Compensation Commissioners, which oversees the City’s 457 supplemental retirement program. He is a frequent presenter at conferences on various topics related to pension systems.
Mr. Geller earned a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, and received his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.
