Mirian S. Avalos currently serves as General Manager for the Los Angeles County Internal Services Department, a position held since February 2023. Previously, Mirian was the Chief Information Officer at the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health from April 2017 to February 2023. Before that, Mirian worked as Chief Technology Officer for the County of San Bernardino, District Attorney, from August 2011 to April 2017. Additional experience includes roles as Interim Deputy Director of Facilities Technology Services and Sr. Technical Project Manager at LAUSD from June 2000 to July 2011, Planner for the Southern California Association of Governments from March 1998 to June 2000, Adjunct Faculty in Math and Economics at Southwestern Community College from May 1997 to March 1998, and Analyst at HR&A from June 1994 to March 1997. Mirian holds a Master's in City Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, along with additional studies at the University of Chicago and Carnegie Mellon University.
