Joanne Burden is an accomplished project and programme manager with extensive experience leading high-profile capital projects across prestigious organizations. Currently serving as the House of Architecture Programme Manager at the Royal Institute of British Architects since May 2024, Joanne previously held prominent roles at the Imperial War Museums as Head of Special Projects: Masterplan from January 2018 to May 2024, where notable projects included the Blavatnik Art, Film and Photography Galleries and the revitalization of HMS Belfast. Prior to that, Joanne worked as a Project Manager at The British Library, managing the St Pancras Transformed Programme, and at Crisis, overseeing major capital projects for the national homeless charity. Additional experience includes programme management at Hertfordshire County Council and the Natural History Museum, contributing to successful initiatives such as the Connect Digitally programme and the Darwin Centre. Joanne earned a BSc in Electronic Imaging and Media Communications from the University of Bradford, graduating with honors in 2000.
