Jan Heinvirta

Jan Heinvirta is a General Partner at Platanus, a firm focused on building and growing startups with technical founders in Latin America since July 2023. Previously, Jan served as Co-Founder and CEO of Perfekto (YC S21) from October 2020 to September 2023, addressing the high cost of nutritious food and food waste in the region. As Country Manager for Mexico at SONECT from July 2017 to February 2021, Jan played a key role in the company's expansion into Latin America, developing market strategies and securing a FinTech license, while also engaging in business development across the Americas. Jan's early experience includes managing online marketing for both SONECT and hauskrieg as a Social Media Manager, as well as completing a business travel consultancy apprenticeship with American Express Global Business Travel. Jan holds a Bachelor of Science in International Management from both ZHAW School of Management and Law and Universidad Iberoamericana, along with entrepreneurship training from Y Combinator.
