Suzanne Lommen is a researcher specializing in biological control and resilient cropping, currently affiliated with the Louis Bolk Institute since July 2024 and serving as an Assistant Professor at Universiteit Leiden since April 2019. At Universiteit Leiden, Suzanne coordinates the introduction of the Japanese knotweed psyllid as a biocontrol agent and promotes weed biocontrol practices across the Netherlands and Europe. Prior roles include Team Lead for R&D Entomology at Koppert Biological Systems, where Suzanne focused on chemical-free pest control solutions using beneficial insects, as well as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Fribourg, where Suzanne coordinated a European initiative on common ragweed management. Educationally, Suzanne holds a PhD in Biology from Leiden University and an MSc in Biology from Wageningen University & Research.
