Khayla Alexis Gaston

Khayla Alexis Gaston is a skilled news producer currently working at BRProud/WGMB/WVLA since July 2022, where collaboration with the news director focuses on enhancing broadcast content and actively gathering compelling stories. Gaston also serves as a Final Talent Pool Member for the T. Howard Foundation and has been a news anchor for The Maroon since November 2018, reporting on diverse news topics. Previous experiences include an internship at Gambit Newspaper, executing research and writing tasks, and serving as the Director of Public Relations and Public Relations Manager at The Shawn M. Donnelley Center for Nonprofit Communication, leading media relations and strategic branding initiatives. Gaston also held positions as a Senator for Loyola University New Orleans Student Government Association and Director of Social Media for the National Association of Black Journalists at Loyola. Khayla Alexis Gaston earned a B.A. in Mass Communication with a minor in African American History from Loyola University New Orleans in 2022.
