Michael Doherty

Michael Doherty is an experienced professional in the energy sector, currently serving as a Senior Power Originator at Low Carbon since August 2022. Prior to this role, Michael worked for Centrica-Energy Marketing & Trading from June 2010 to August 2022, taking on various positions including UK PPA Originator, Gas Originator, and Head of Generation Planning & Logistics. Michael's expertise encompasses UK renewables, gas trading, and strategic business development, with a strong emphasis on commercial negotiation and relationship management. Michael's earlier career included key roles at Phoenix Natural Gas Ltd, Total Gas & Power Ltd, Granville Baird, and Lloyd's of London. Michael holds a BSc in Finance from Queen’s University of Belfast and an MSc in International Securities, Investments & Banking from the ISMA Centre at the University of Reading.
