Scientific Lead- Pharmacology at Loxo Oncology

Candace J. Langan, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning across various scientific and research roles. Candace J. is currently working at Loxo Oncology at Lilly, where they serve as the Scientific Lead- Pharmacology since January 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Scientist- Pharmacology at the same company from October 2021 to December 2022.

Before joining Loxo Oncology at Lilly, Dr. Langan worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Savannah River National Laboratory from May 2020 to September 2021. Candace J. also gained experience as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of South Carolina from July 2019 to May 2020.

Dr. Langan's earlier experience includes working as a Graduate Research Assistant at Augusta University from August 2015 to June 2019. Candace J. conducted research under the mentorship of Dr. Jan van Riggelen, focusing on epigenetic mechanisms involving the MYC oncoprotein and tumor maintenance in T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) and Burkitt's lymphoma.

Prior to their role at Augusta University, Dr. Langan worked as a Research Assistant at Armstrong State University from June 2011 to May 2015. Their work, supervised by Dr. Scott Mateer, involved research projects on biocatalysis and the use of yeast enzymes to generate chiral alcohols from ketones.

Candace J. Langan, PhD, received their Bachelor of Science degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from Armstrong State University in 2015. Candace J. went on to obtain their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biochemistry and Cancer Biology from Augusta University in 2019.
