Raziur Rahman

Scientific Lead, Discovery Bioinformatics at Loxo Oncology

Raziur Rahman has a diverse work experience in various scientific and research roles. Raziur is currently working at Loxo Oncology at Lilly as the Scientific Lead, Discovery Bioinformatics. Prior to this, they were a Computational Scientist at the same company. Before joining Loxo Oncology, Raziur worked at Argonne National Laboratory as a Machine Learning and Computational Biology Research Fellow, where they developed machine-learning algorithms and bioinformatics/database systems. Raziur also worked on transfer learning methods to improve anti-cancer drug sensitivity prediction and developed a machine learning classifier for phenotypic detection of biothreat agents. Raziur's previous experience includes working as a Research Assistant at Texas Tech University, where they focused on applying novel machine learning algorithms in cancer pharmacogenomics data. Raziur also worked as a Graduate Student Intern at Children's Cancer Therapy Development Institute and as a Lecturer at Daffodil International University.

Raziur Rahman holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas Tech University, completed from 2015 to 2019. Prior to their Ph.D., they obtained a Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from the same institution, from 2015 to 2017. Raziur Rahman also holds an Engineer's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, completed from 2008 to 2014. Raziur has a Higher Secondary Certificate from Bogra Govt. Azizul Haque College, obtained in 2008, and a Secondary School Certificate from Dhaka Residential Model College, obtained from 2004 to 2006. Raziur Rahman is also certified in Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) from NCEES, although the date of acquisition is not provided.
