Harmen Holtrop has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Harmen started their career at HEINEKEN in 1991 as a tour guide, a position they held until 1996. In 1997, Harmen joined Van Doorne advocaten as an Associate and remained in this role until 1999. Harmen then moved on to Latham & Watkins LLP, where they worked as a Foreign Intern in the New York office from November 2004 to July 2005. In 2000, Harmen joined Loyens & Loeff as an Associate and gradually progressed to the positions of Senior Associate in August 2005, Partner in January 2007, and finally, Managing Partner from October 2022 onwards.
Harmen Holtrop attended Stedelijk Gymnasium Leeuwarden from 1983 to 1990. Harmen then pursued their undergraduate studies at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) from 1990 to 1996. During this time, they specialized in Dutch law, focusing on civil law and criminal law. In 2022, they enrolled at Vlerick Business School for the Digital Leadership Summer program, which is currently ongoing.
