Program Director, Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Loyola Medicine

Mushabbar Syed, MD, FACC, FSCMR is an esteemed cardiologist currently serving as the Rolf & Merian Gunnar Professor of Medicine-Cardiology at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine since 2013. At Loyola Medicine, Mushabbar Syed has held the role of Program Director for the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship and Director of Cardiovascular Imaging since August 2010. Prior experience includes leadership positions such as Associate Professor of Medicine and Director of Cardiovascular MR and CT at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine (2006-2010) and Assistant Professor of Medicine and Director of Cardiac Imaging at Emory University School of Medicine (2004-2006). Additional training includes a Clinical Fellowship in Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (2002-2004), along with extensive clinical roles at Henry Ford Health System (1994-2002) and early medical training at Blackburn Royal Infirmary & Queen's Park Hospital NHS (1991-1994).
